In this session, visual artist & creative technologist Aristotle Roufanis, is going to walk you through some of the best design and coding practices in creating beautiful UIs.

Aristotle Roufanis is a visual artist and creative technologist whose work focuses on human interactions defined by the condition of urban life and architecture. Clients include several Fortune 500 companies, academic institutions and top design agencies globally. 

His artistic work has been exhibited among others at the Miami Photo Festival, Zeitz MOCAA Cape Town, the 3rd Beijing Photo Biennale, the Copenhagen Photo Festival and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Publications include Wired, Artsy, The Art Newspaper, British Journal of Photography, Creative Review, Cheese! by Konbini, Petapixel, the Best of Behance galleries and many others, both online and in print. He lives and works between Athens and London.

He's lucky enough to have a day job that's directly tied to his passion for live visuals, working as an artist and lead trainer at Notch. Ever since he discovered Notch and the joy of a real-time workflow, Armin has been addicted to it, which is why he makes most of his own experiments available for free via youtube and other social platforms for anyone to learn from and remix for their own use.

Roberto Cabezas Hernández is a transmedia software developer, researcher and educator, currently living and working in Mexico City. Roberto is the Creative Technology Director at CENTRO, where his work, research and lectures focus on: applied artificial intelligence, data visualization, affective and cognitive computing, algorithmic creation, procedural animation, computational simulation and philosophy of technology. He obtained a Ph.D. in Music Technology and graduated with honors from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); as part of his work, he creates and develops software tools for music composition, animation, immersive design and interactive audiovisual performance to explore new ideas on hybrid computational models for human-machine cooperation and social accountability for technology development.

In this conference Cocolab, one of the best Mexican multimedia studios, will tell us everything about the design of immersive experiences, and will take us on a tour through the creation of FRIDA Inmersiva, one of its most recent creations. Find out more about their methodology, the way they approach designing and producing in this new format that has become highly relevant in recent years.

Josue is a co-founder and New Technologies Director at multimedia studio Cocolab, one of the largest studios in Latin America. Over the past 15 years and together with Cocolab, Josue Ibañez has been designing and directing teams of artists, designers and developers to create immersive experiences and multimedia art work in countries like Mexico, China, USA, Japan, and Italy.

Have you had trouble getting your career started? Join Crystal Jow as she breaks down her journey into the immersive media field. This talk shares personal and professional tips and strategies on growing a professional network and customizing a career that works for you and your lifestyle.

Crystal Jow is a Los Angeles-based experiential media designer and movement instructor that specializes in audience-driven immersive installations and meditative experiences that explore motion and media. She's worked with clients such as  Oculus VR, ESPN, Deloitte, Warner Brothers, DoorDash, and has created installations at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Museo Municipal de Tossa de Mar in Spain, 20th Century Fox Studios, DGA Theater Complex, and more, as well as having taught workshops internationally.

Crystal believes her art practice provides audiences with the opportunity for self-reflection and the ability to investigate relationships around us and the subconscious. She is currently developing new immersive experiences by cross-pollinating her movement practices, wellness data, & meditation with media, and interactive technology. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in experimental animation from the California Institute of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts degree in animation and digital arts from the University of Southern California.

Committed to the promotion and introduction of avant-garde music and digital arts in Mexico for two decades, Damian Romero has traveled an important period of time leaving traces at every step taken.

Since 2003, Romero has given life to the International Festival of Digital Creativity MUTEK Mexico, presenting for the first time in the country an event of international artistic magnitude in large format, exhibiting the most relevant and purposeful proposals of global digital creation (which at present is one of the few independent Mexican festivals that have stood firm in the last nineteen years), positioning itself as a unique platform in our country focused on cultural innovation. At the same time, he has been persistent and committed to creativity and local digital art, presenting artistic export projects in China, Japan, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Quebec, the United States, Germany, Spain, France, Colombia, Argentina and Chile. .

Currently he heads his firm IMECA, an international platform for collective creation made up of creators from various disciplines in Mexico and Canada, with a point of convergence: the technological arts, the graphic universe, sound and the infinite field of innovation.
